Hotel & Spa Resort Järvisydän, Rantasalmi
It was the year 1658, when the first members of the Heiskanen Family began to serve travelers in the Porosalmi area on the shores of Lake Saimaa. A key reason was because the Tsar of Russia and the King of Sweden made a deal that there should be an ice road going via Finland. Along the road they agreed that there should be feeding places for the horses and places to rest for the men every 30 km. For this reason Järvisydän was born.
At the start of the 21st century Mr Markus Heiskanen took over as host of Järvisydän, the 11th generation of the Heiskanen Family to do so. Markus as a young, and enthusiastic host added extra villas and a hotel to the comlex, opened Finnish Sauna World, a new restaurant (Pilkatyttö) and wine bar and a boat bar named Lotjabaari. The newest edition of the complex, added in March 2017, was the Lake Spa.
