This 15-minute mini-snowmobile session, held on a safe, purpose-built track right next to Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, is designed to give children their own taste of Arctic adventure — no adult riding along, no sharing the controls, just a scaled-down snowmobile sized for smaller hands and smaller riders.

Guides supervise closely throughout, offering hands-on help to younger children who need a bit more support, while more confident kids get the freedom to steer their own machine around the track under watchful eyes. It’s a genuinely proud moment for most children — the chance to drive something real, in real snow, in the same Arctic landscape their parents have been exploring on full-size snowmobiles.

Once the engines go quiet, everyone — kids and parents alike — gather by the fireplace for hot berry juice and cookies, the classic Lapland way to warm up after time outdoors. Parents are welcome to join the fireside break free of charge, making this an easy add-on activity for families already spending the day near Santa Claus Village, whether paired with another Wild Nordic tour or as a standalone stop. Every new driver also receives their own snowmobile license to take home with them.
