Snowmobile Safaris
There are a few rules about driving a snowmobile. Only a person with a driving license can drive a snowmobile. To be a passenger, the person needs to be at least 140 cm (4.5 feet) tall. Smaller children (only those over 4 years old) will ride in a sledge pulled by the guide.
- Family snowmobile safari (2 hours) – Children from 3 to 12 years old will be able to ride their own mini-snowmobile!
- Snowmobile safari into the arctic circle forest (2 hours) – Very suitable for families.
- Easy snowmobile safari (1 hour) – A very short ride to get a feel for it.
Husky, Reindeer & Horse Safaris
Reindeer, horse, and husky safaris usually do not take children under 4 years old.
- Snowmobile, reindeer & husky combo (4 hours) – Perfect for a family short on time or that just wants to have a taste of three different safaris at once.
- Snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm (3 hours) – A bit long but you can experience two safaris at once.
- Visit a local reindeer farm (1.5 hours) – Get up close and personal with a reindeer.
- Reindeer safari in the forest of Lapland (2 hours) – 2.5 km (1.5 mi) drive.
- Reindeer safari in the deep forest (2.5 hours) – 3.5 km (2.2 mi) drive.
- Happy trail husky tour (2.5 hours) – Family-friendly tour, drive the sled yourself.
- Call of the wild (3 hours) – 12-18 km (7.5-11.2 mi) husky drive, drive the sled yourself & visit the kennel.
- Running with the pack (2 hours) – 5 km (3.1 mi) husky ride driven by a musher & kennel visit.
- Coffee tour (3 hours) – 15 km (9.3 mi) husky ride driven by a musher.
- Riding tour with Finnhorses at Santa Claus Village (1 hour) – 45 min. horseback riding, helmet provided
- Traditional Finnhorse sledge ride at Santa Claus Village (1 hour) – 3 km (1.9 mi) sledge ride.
Northern Lights Safaris
Looking for northern lights involves a lot of wandering and waiting; therefore, northern lights safaris are usually not recommended for children younger than 10 years old.
- Northern lights hunting by minibus (3 hours) – If possible, the driver will go as far as needed to find the northern lights, while you stay warm and comfy in the van.
Santa Claus Experiences
These activities are wonderful for young children and their parents and are usually offered between November and January.
- Dream of Joulukka: Visit to Santa’s secret command center (3.5 hours) – Possibility of a private visit.
- Santa’s toy factory (2 hours) – Possibility of a private visit.
